Nothing should be between God and yourself. If there is anything between God and you that hinders; such as ego or pride... that's sin. Being successful is not what looks outside but what's going on in your heart.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matt 6:33(NIV)
God will take care of proper things in proper timing if you put his kingdom first and love your Lord with all your heart, soul and mind. Put the most important things first; the relationship with God, then other things will be taken care of.
"Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, 'Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?' [17] 'Why do you ask me about what is good?' Jesus replied. 'There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.' [18] 'Which ones?' the man inquired. Jesus replied, ''Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, [19] honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'' [20] 'All these I have kept,' the young man said. 'What do I still lack?' [21] Jesus answered, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, [7] rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Col 2:6-7(NIV)
Which one is your answer? After all you heard what's missing in you and the love that you can receive free, will you say "No, I can't do it." walking away sad knowing that something is missing and lacking in your heart? Or will you take your cross and follow Jesus?
